Bob was born May 21,1935, adopted by Louis and Ann Orenstein and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
He graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, VA in 1952 which ignited his lifelong interest in all things military. His work life in New York was as a salesman for small computer consulting firms.
Bob’s passion was boats, best exhibited by his thirty years as a devoted member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Bob served as Flotilla Commander for two flotillas in the NY/NJ area prior to moving south in 1999. Boaters up and down the east coast were taught safe boating courses and protected by countless safety patrols captained by Bob.
As a devotee of the arts, Bob was an enthusiastic supporter of the Summerville Orchestra and was instrumental in formation of the original Guild.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jane and his nephew, Steven Fleisher of Chicago.
