Rudolf Michael Haas

On May 23, 2025 Rudy Haas passed away peacefully in his cottage in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Born on December 17, 1935 in Bierbrunn, Czechoslovakia. At the age of 15 his family embarked on a journey to America to begin a new life after living through the hardships of World War II. They settled in the Philadelphia area and then Rudy eventually raised his family in Feasterville and Huntingdon Valley, PA.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Rudy embraced the spirit of building and construction, establishing a successful partnership with his dear friend David Shubin. Together, they created family homes and commercial buildings that allowed countless others in the Delaware Valley to realize their own dreams.

Rudy knew how to savor life. He delighted in good wine, enjoyed trying his luck at the casinos, and loved dancing with his late wife, Elfriede. He was a gracious host, bringing friends and family together for memorable parties, and he cherished traveling the world with those he loved. His ability to turn even the simplest moments into joyful occasions was truly remarkable.

Rudy was devoted to the principle that family always comes first—whether by blood or by choice. He was a wonderful husband to the late Elfriede (nee Eckart) Haas and a loving father to Steven Haas (Linda) and Kristina 'Tina' Farrell (Michael). Rudy was also a cherished Opa to Anna, Grace, Elizabeth, and John Michael.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Haas (Ann); and was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Gisela Haas, his brother Oscar Haas, and sister Edeltrude Haas.

Rudolf Haas will forever remain in our hearts through the stories we share, the lessons he imparted, and the cherished memories we hold dear.
