Our community lost a fun-loving and caring soul on July 10, 2026, when Ryan C. Hearn, 37, passed away unexpectedly at his home. 

Ryan was a lifelong Charleston area native, born in Mt. Pleasant on March 13, 1989, and raised in West Ashley. 

During his years at West Ashley High School (Class of 2007), he was a dedicated athlete on the soccer and football fields, making lifelong memories and friends.

Ryan then turned his passion for food into a career by earning an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of Charleston. He spent years sharing his kitchen skills in several of Charleston’s renowned restaurants, bringing joy to people through his cooking. 

Outside of the kitchen, Ryan’s world revolved around his beloved fur baby, Hugo, whose sweet nature perfectly mirrored Ryan's own gentle heart. 

Ryan leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and devotion to his family and friends.

Holding his memory close are his parents, Jeffrey and Stephanie Hearn; his brother, Chad Hearn; his sister, Leigh Anne Hearn; and a community of friends who loved him dearly.
