Sheryl “Shea” Williams Wall passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on September 29, 1955, Shea was the beloved daughter of Horace Edwin “Ed” Williams Sr. and Jacquelyne Krell Ackerman. She grew up in Columbia, SC, and often spent her summers enjoying the beauty of Murrells Inlet with her grandparents. It was here that she formed many lifelong friendships and spent countless hours waterskiing and enjoying time with friends. She was also an accomplished horseback rider and a cheerleader during her time at Brenau Academy. She later attended Columbia College, where she earned her degree in Speech Pathology.

Shea worked in electronic distribution where she met the love of her life, John “JoJo” Haskell Wall. They shared more than 30 years of love, laughter, live music, and countless memories. Together, they attended more concerts than could ever be counted. Their love of music became a special part of their beautiful life together. Throughout their marriage, John and Shea rarely called each other by their given names. Instead, they affectionately called each other “Husband” and “Wife,” the titles they felt most honored to give one another. Even after John’s passing, their bond remained unbreakable. Shea joined John just three months to the day after his passing.

Family was Shea’s everything. Her daughters, Chevis and Taylor, were her world. She created a household filled with laughter and unconditional love. She taught them not only to be strong and independent but also to lead with kindness and love others with their whole hearts.

She poured this same love into being a grandmother and aunt. “Gram” cherished all the little traditions that made their time together so special. She rarely missed a dance competition, guitar recital, baseball game, or any other opportunity to cheer them on. And more than anything, time with Gram meant time for fun–diving competitions at the lake, sleepovers watching South Park, trick-or-treating in matching costumes, annual trips to Dave & Buster’s, or dancing to the music that was always playing in her house.

We will find memories of Shea in all of the everyday moments we shared with her. We will sense her calming spirit every time we settle into a cozy spot with a good book. We will find comfort in each bite of her famous chicken salad. We will have a good laugh every time we say salt (or “sot” as she pronounced it). And more than anything, we will feel Shea’s uniting presence every time her family and friends come together, just as she always loved.

Those who knew Shea would say that her kindness, gentleness, and genuine love for others were the truest reflections of her soul. She welcomed everyone with open arms and embraced them for who they truly were. She had a beautiful way of making people feel seen and heard. And she never spoke ill of others because she only had love in her heart. The goodness she brought into this world will live on through the lives she touched and the people she loved.

Shea is survived by her children, Chevis Smith Fogarty (Marc) and Taylor Smith Gepper (John); her cherished grandchildren, Madison Gepper, Ryanne Fogarty, TaylorAnne Fogarty, and Davis Gepper; her nieces, Michel Williams (Eldon Thomas), Janette Wall (Cade Kaufmann), and Dr. Savannah Wall; her nephews Ben Hiott and Mark Hiott; her great-nephew, Lawrence Kaufmann; her brother-in-law Dr. William “Bill” Wall (Laura Wall); and her beloved Springer Spaniel, Sadie Mae.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John “JoJo” Haskell Wall; her parents, Horace “Ed” Williams Sr. and Jacquelyne Krell Ackerman; her brother and sister-in-law, Horace “Win” Williams Jr. and Dr. Suzanne Williams; and her faithful dog, Jazz.
