Stephanie Newman Haskett, 63, of Columbia, South Carolina, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Prisma Richland Memorial Hospital.
Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Wiley Graham Newman and Barbara Gail Clanton.
Stephanie dedicated her career to serving others as a flight attendant with American Airlines, flying out of Columbia, South Carolina, and based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her love of flying was more than a profession—it was a passion that allowed her to connect with people and experience the world with curiosity and joy. Prior to her time with American Airlines, she was an active member of the Hillbrook Pool in Spartanburg. There, she faithfully served as Operations Chair and for many years helped foster a strong sense of community among its members.
Stephanie was known for her kindness, warm spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She treasured time spent with loved ones and found her greatest joy in being a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She also held a special love for Kiawah Island, where she cherished countless memories of family gatherings, peaceful beach walks, and the beauty of the South Carolina coast. Stephanie's faith, generosity, and ability to make others feel welcome left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Stephanie is survived by her beloved daughter, Wiley Haskett Ridlehuber; her son-in-law, William Richard Ridlehuber; her cherished grandson, Wilton Graham Ridlehuber; and her sisters, Cynthia Newman Woodfin and Wiley Newman Glass.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Summit Hills, 110 Summit Hills Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
Stephanie's love, grace, and faith will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
