Susan Elizabeth Davis

Susan Elizabeth Davis (Baxter), age 74, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Summerville, South Carolina.

Born on January 20, 1951, in Dexter, Maine, Susan lived a life rooted in love, family, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Susan was the beloved wife of Billy Davis. Their marriage of 55 years was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together they built a life centered around family, creating countless cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was a devoted mother to Tina Davis and Troy Davis, and mother-in-law to Cheryl Davis. Her role as grandmother brought her immense joy; she leaves behind granddaughters Madison Hamblen, Hanna Davis, Emily Davis, and Rebecca Davis. 

Family was everything to Susan. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate the people she loved—always remembering birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings, baby showers, and every special occasion in between. When possible—and it almost always was—she and Billy would attend these events with enthusiasm and heartfelt support. Holidays were especially meaningful in Susan’s home. She had a gift for transforming each celebration into something magical through thoughtful decorations and meals made from scratch. Her warmth and attention to detail made every gathering feel extraordinary.

Susan is also survived by her sisters Nancy(Michael) Bournique, Sally(Brian) LeMay, Robin(Michael) Carey; sisters-in-law Shirley(Gordon) Geer, Liz(David) Adams and brothers-in-law Lonnie(Judy) Davis, Roger Davis; stepdaughter Tammy Foss; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Priscilla Baxter; sister Karen Philbrook; brother Michael Baxter; stepson Jason Davis; father-in-law Lonnie Davis; mother-in-law Florence Davis; and brother-in-law Tommy Davis.

Susan’s legacy is one of steadfast love and selfless dedication. She was always there for her family—no matter what—and she will be missed immensely. Her memory will continue to inspire strength among those she held close. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
