Suzanne Juro Heron, 45, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home with her family on May 23, 2026. Suzanne was born in Bishop, California, on December 26, 1980, to Gregory and Marsha Juro. She is survived by her parents; her husband, Steve; their six children, Tessa, Molly, Avery, Joel, Kathryn, and Charlotte; and her brother, Tim.
Suzanne earned a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of North Texas and worked as a teacher for several years before marrying Steve. Though gifted as an educator, Suzanne became a homemaker in the truest sense of the word. She loved her calling as a wife and mother and became the steady, beating heart of her home — educating, exhorting, encouraging, and faithfully training her children in the way they should go. Suzanne cared for her family with tireless devotion: providing for them, praying for them, loving them deeply, and continually pointing them to Jesus Christ.
Her creativity and love of cooking richly blessed her family and countless others. Suzanne delighted in experimenting with new flavors, watching the Food Network, and even had one of her cooking tips published in Cook's Illustrated. She rarely enjoyed a restaurant meal unless she believed she could not make it better herself at home. Her hospitality extended beyond her own table, as she faithfully brought meals to families welcoming newborns, facing illness, or walking through difficult seasons.
She possessed a rare wisdom and discernment, often understanding the heart of a matter and offering thoughtful, timely counsel. Suzanne also had an uncanny ability to anticipate the needs of others. She knew what her children would need hours in advance, how she could best support and encourage her husband, or what someone might be feeling during a difficult moment. She quietly sought opportunities to serve others without recognition or praise.
Suzanne put her faith in Christ at an early age and her greatest joy and hope was found in her Savior. Her love for God’s Word and her desire to obey Him shaped every aspect of her life. She was a devoted student of Scripture and regularly gathered small groups of women to study, read, and discuss the faithfulness of God together. She loved exploring the depth and beauty of God’s revealed truth and encouraging others to do the same.
Her family and friends will remember Suzanne for her steadfast faith, quiet strength, thoughtful care for others, and the deep love she poured into her home each day. She finished her race faithfully, trusting fully in the grace, promises, and resurrection of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Citadel Square Church.
