William E. "Billy" Mixson passed away on June 16, 2026. Born and raised on Johns Island South Carolina, Billy carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and friendship throughout his life.

As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Corpsman. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with H&R Menthol Plant, now Symrise, in Goose Creek, South Carolina, where he worked for 40 years before retiring.

Billy was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and ability to make those around him laugh. The ultimate jokester.

In his younger years, he was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course with friends. He was also a passionate Clemson football fan who faithfully cheered on the Tigers through the years.

Billy was loved by many family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Amanda Rippy and her husband, Mark, and by his cherished grandson, Wyatt Rippy. He also leaves behind his former wife, Kathryn Mixson; his longtime best friend, Geoff Conine; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Billy will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, his service to his country, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal service. Billy chose cremation, and his ashes will be spread at Folly Beach, South Carolina, a place he loved.

Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit, stories, and laughter will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
