William Rogers Hunt, 74, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Charleston on October 31, 1951, William was the son of the late Peter Stuart Hunt and Marguerite Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dona Fanning, and his brother, Peter Stuart Hunt, Jr.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Shannon Hunt; his sister, Karen Hunt; his daughters, Crystal Hunt White (Shane White) and Candy Hunt Acanfora (Jon Acanfora); his stepson, Alex Pace (Jen Pace); and his cherished grandchildren, Madeline White, Bennett White, Cohen Acanfora, and Abigail Pace. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
William found his greatest joy in spending time with his wife in the country, where they enjoyed the peace and beauty of nature together. He loved watching the wildlife, especially the birds and deer that frequented their property. He took great pride in working on his land and enjoyed the faithful companionship of his beloved dog, Aussie.
A devoted Christian, William was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church. His church family was an important part of his life, and he was blessed with many friends who loved and supported him, just as he loved and supported them. His faith guided his life and served as an example to all who knew him.
William will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for family, his steadfast faith, and his appreciation for life’s simple blessings. His presence brought comfort and stability to those around him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, located at 1601 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Charleston, South Carolina 29407. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate William’s life and legacy.
