Wylie Howard Parker Sr., 79, of Harleyville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on April 14, 2026,surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 1, 1946, in South Carolina to Wylie Joel Parkerand Cathrine Feagin, Wylie spent his formative years growing up in Edisto Island. A man of duty and dedication, he proudly joined the United States Navy, serving his country for four years. Following his military service, he embarked on a meaningful career as a Nuclear Refueler at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he worked until his well-earned retirement in 1993.

Wylie was a man of simple joys and profound loves. He found great happiness in casting a line out on the water, cheering passionately for his South Carolina Gamecocks, and relaxing while playing poker on his iPad.  Above all else, Wylie cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He will be deeply remembered for his unwavering devotion and strong love for his family. A remarkably kind man, Wylie always put his family first and would go to any length to support and care for the people he loved. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his family, who will miss him beyond measure.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Louann; his sons, Wylie Jr. and wife Jodie and Brandon and partner Reba; his cherished granddaughter, Kelsie and partner Charlie; his beloved grandson Wyatt; and his precious great-granddaughter, Cassie. He is also survived by his brothers, Rabon Parker and wife Norma, Jimmy Parker and wife Ronnie, and Joey Cabanban, and his sister, Larry Parker Streett Lane and husband LeBrine and many beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Wylie is now reunited in eternal peace with his sisters, Ruth Parker (Cabanban) and Beth Parker Crawford, and his adored grandson, Wylie H. Parker III, who preceded him in death.

The family would also like to thank the many hospice nurses and staff as well as Sandra and Reba for their amazing care and dedication during his time of need.

A Celebration of Life honoring Wylie will be held on May 29, 2026, at Edisto Island. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend, share their favorite memories, and celebrate the beautiful life of a wonderful man.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you honor Wylie’s memory through a donation to the family, or through any other meaningful gesture of kindness in his name.
