Yvonne Violet Grau

Yvonne V. Grau (Lovey) passed peacefully on March 24, 2025, in the hospice facility in Lexington South Carolina, after a long goodbye from complications related to Parkinson's disease. 

Yvonne was born September 15, 1943, in Sutton-At-Hone, Kent, England. She spent her early life in Kent. Graduating from the Maidstone School of Arts and Crafts, she embarked on various career paths, most notably as a fashion designer in London. After arriving in the USA, she had numerous jobs from co-owner of a delicatessen in New York City to a manager and buyer for 12 boutique style stores. 

Yvonne was trustworthy, supportive, and caring. She was a great wife and friend, endearing and hardworking. She was a beautiful woman. She had so many qualities that listing them all would take forever, but these are the ones that spring in my mind first. She was incredible and I admired her every day. Yvonne loved her plants, indoor and in the garden, in addition to her dog Sasha, as well as reading lots of books. Yvonne will be greatly missed by family at home in England and friends in the USA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Violet, and her brother, Michael.

Yvonne is survived by her husband Rudolf (Rolf), several nieces, and cousins; and a wide circle of family and friends who were a meaningful part of her life.
